J. William “Bill” Claytor, Jr., DDS, FAGD, MAGD, PA graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry and completed a two year General Practice Residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. He has been awarded the coveted Fellowship and Mastership from the Academy of General Dentistry. In 2017, Dr. Claytor was awarded the Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition Award from the Academy of General Dentistry which denotes a commitment to career continuing education and giving back to the community. Dr. Claytor has lectured nationally on Cerec Connect, completed the Sirona Speakers Academy Workshop (2011) and Sirona Digital Impressioning Trainers Workshop (2012), and has been a Beta tester for Apollo DI, Cerec Connect, and Cerec Omnicam. He is a Certified Patterson Basic and Clinical Cerec Trainer, a Mentor and Visiting Faculty with Cerecdoctors in Scottsdale, completed Level 3 and Level 4 courses at the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry, and attended inLab 4.2 training from the Cerec On Demand Education Center. Dr. Claytor has published in Dental Products Report and Cerec Online Magazine (www.cereconline.com) describing his journey into digital impressioning using Cerec Connect, Cerec Omnicam, and OrthoPhos XG-3D. In 2016, Dr. Claytor published a five part series in Digital Enamel Online Magazine (www.digitalenamel.com) entitled, “Ready, Set, Go: Are We Really On Cruise Control?”, where he addressed the timely issue of Burnout in Dentistry and how emerging technologies, such as Cerec Omnicam and Galileos, may help prevent future burnout through engaging the clinician in the world of digital dentistry. He also manages a blog on www.digitalenamel.com called “Ask Bill” where he addresses current and relevant issues facing dentists today. Dr. Claytor lectures at the Sirona Connect Power Workshop in Charlotte dealing with the dentist/lab technician interactions using Sirona Connect. Bill was a panelist at the inaugural InLab Marketing Summit held at Sirona Headquarters in Charlotte (October 2016). Beginning in November, 2016, Dr. Claytor has presented a lecture on “The Ultimate In Same Day Patient Care and Endodontic/Restoration Efficiency” for Dentsply Sirona. Bill also was a mentor for the CEREC Discovery Hands-On Course at the 3rd Annual North Carolina Digital Technology Symposium in Durham in November, 2016 and the South Carolina Digital Technology Symposium in Greenville in February, 2017. Dr. Claytor became a Key Opinion Leader (KOL) for Dentsply Sirona in 2017. He is a Co-leader of his local CEREC Study Club in Shelby, North Carolina.
